White Christmas in Nashville TN!

White Christmas in Nashville TN!

White Christmas in Nashville

For the first time in 17 years, Nashvillians woke up to a white Christmas. Many people around the country wouldn't consider an inch of snow a White Christmas. But for those in Middle Tennessee, this is something you only dream about. Since records have been kept, there have only been 9 Christmases with snow. Beginning in 1884 and 1885 with the largest accumulation being in 1969 with 2.7 inches.

This Picture is actually from January when we got 5 inches. Most of our snow comes in January and February.

Today's snow is the second accumulation in December this year. Very unusual for here.

For those of you doubled over laughing, all I can say is Merry Christmas!!

Life at Christmastime

Life at Christmastime
Christmas in Nashville
Today someone forwarded the standard funny email with the dos and don'ts for eating during the holiday season. It was cute and it was funny, but the quote at the end was worth repeating:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one and and wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO What a ride!""

Sometimes we're just too serious and full of ourselves. I exercise and watch what I eat, but sometimes you just need to relax and enjoy the moment and the people you're with. This Christmas time eat the things that someone has lovingly made for you. A little butter and cream will not kill you.

31 Day Challenge for January 2011 - My New Years Resolution

31 Day Challenge for January 2011 - My New Years Resolution

31 Day Challenge

Last January 1st, I posted my New Years Resolution to commit to post at least 3 times each week. It's been a challenge and I've missed a handful of weeks but overall have averaged 2.8 posts each week. I don't know why, when I'm stressed, I have trouble writing. Maybe I don't want to share the negative I feel.
.

For the past several months I have been reading blogs written by AR members who have taken up the Challenge to post every day for 30 or 31 days, depending on the month of the Challenge. Each time I would think that's nice. I should do that. But each time I had a lot going on in my life. Illness, work, something that was paralyzing me.

31 Day ChallengeNo more excuses. It's time to make this such a habit that I don't miss any weeks. In our last Master Mind BarCamp, Thom Abbott, Lane Bailey and Kathy Drewien all talked about writing ahead so there was always something ready to post. So, as I work on my 2011 goals, I am committing to a 31 Day Challenge for January 2011. I invite you to join me. We can hold each other accountable.

Any of you who comment that you're accepting this challenge, I will subscribe to your blog and follow you all month. We will overcome our reluctance, fear, or whatever is holding us back with our blogs together! We have 14 days to get some things written ahead for the challenge. But don't let that keep you from posting these next two weeks!

I can do this. I will do this. I hope you join me!

UPDATE: Thanks to Mel Wagner's suggestion, I started a group:
