Vanderbilt WINS National Championship!
Lots of hard work and great coaching paid off Wednesday night as the Commodores beat Virginia, the expected winner, in the third night of the College World Series playoffs.
Carson Fulmer started the evening off with five innings of one-hit shutout ball and 103 pitches. He was relieved by Hayden Stone, a freshman, who did not let us down! In the 8th inning at 2-2 John Norwood hit the only home run of the evening. It became the became the game winning run.
This is Vanderbilt's first NCAA championship in a men's sport in the school's long history!
This incredible team was Vandy's first intercollegiate team of any sport dating back to 1886.
It's a great day in Nashville, especially if you're a Vandy Fan!
