Comments, Comments, Comments, we all want Comments

When I first started blogging in 2008 I was fortunate enough to meet and learn from some great bloggers. I started to list them and as I wrote their names I kept thinking of more and didn't want to miss anyone! One of the first things I learned was that when someone comments on your blog, you need to go read one of their posts and reciprocate the comment.
I clearly remember Margaret Woda either posting a blog about it, or discussing it with me somewhere else, where she talked about all the "messages" on her MY HOME page that she had to get caught up with.
I remember thinking, I don't have that many that I have trouble keeping up. Hmmm.
Fast forward to December 2010. I had this great idea about challenging myself to post every day in January 2011. Then, I had the better idea of writing a post about it. Long story shortened, the birth of 31 Days in January group and Challenge. 450 plus comments later from the multiple posts involved, I have just now finished reciprocating to every comment I received starting almost 2 weeks ago on those two featured posts.
This is what my email looked like for days.
There were so many new Members writing comments I hated not to go back and encourage them. I've been really impressed with how well many of them have kept up with the challenge and written well these first two weeks!
Now I am not complaining, I've made many new friends on AR but, at what point is it ok not to get back to everyone?
