Jingle Bell Run

Don't miss your chance to burn off some of those holiday calories and help raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. Dust off those shoes and head to downtown Franklin TN at the public square and pick up jingle bells to tie to your shoelaces. Some people will wear Christmas costumes, some will bring their pets. ALL will have fun!

Here are the Details:

2009 Williamson County Jingle Bell Run/Walk

Registration begins at 8am in the Public Square

9am Race starts at 3rd Avenue North and Public Square

10am Kids and Dogs Fun Run/Walk

There is street parking available and free parking at the garages located on 2nd and 4th Avenues. There will be street closures so give yourself plenty of time.

Saturday December 5th, 10am to 5pm

Bring everyone you know and bring your checkbook! You don't want to miss this fun Annual Sale! The products on sale have been made at Brightstone by the students there. You'll find Christmas decorations, yummy gifts to give your friends and colleagues, and things to pamper yourself. Christmas cards are also available. They may be ordered from the Brightstone Store.

Brightstone helps adults with special needs in the Middle Tennessee area. They teach these adults ways to live and work in the community with assistance. Lives are changed because of the programs they provide to these individuals. Please visit their website www.brightstone.org to see their mission statement and find out more about their vision for the community.

Bring a donation for Graceworks, their neighbor. They're asking for toys or food.

Franklin TN is full of Christmas events for everyone, starting this evening with the lighting of the Christmas Tree. The Franklin Trolley is very popular this time of year do to parking restrictions and runs between various points in Franklin to Cool Springs Mall on the Yellow and Blue routes. Enjoy the Following Events!

December 2009 Calender of Events

2nd - Tree Lighting Ceremony, 6pm in the Square downtown

5th - Christmas Parade, 2pm, Main Street

12th & 13th - Dickens of a Christmas, downtown, primarily on Main Street. Saturday 10-5, Sunday 12-5      

      Truly one of the highlights of Franklin's Christmas Season, this isFranklin TN Dickens Christmas the 24th year that Franklin's Historic Downtown travels back in time to the time of Charles Dickens with a Victorian celebration on Main Street. 

The Volunteers - over 250 - make this spectacular by dressing in period costume as pedestrians, street vendors and musicians, dancers and Dickens characters.

There will be Victorian treats such as roasted chestnuts, turkey legs, sugar plums and fish n' chips. You'll find a holiday bazaar with arts and crafts all around the Public Square. You're sure to encounter Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Ghost of Christmas past. There will be performances by the dancers and musicians that wander the streets, as well as hand bell choirs, carolers and many other types of entertainment. The best part is it's FREE!

So take the family. There is no better time than another. The activities go on and on. There are 2 free parking garages on Forth Avenue South and Second Avenue South. There is additional parking along the streets.

Franklin TN - Grassland Community - Bethlehem United Methodist Church Annual Fish Fry!

 

35th Annual Fish Fry Friday July 17th!Bethlehem United Methodist Church


Bethlehem United Methodist Church once again will host their annual  Fish Fry in Grassland Community of Franklin TN. It will be held this Friday, July 17th from 4:30 to 8pm. Over 1400 pounds of freshwater catfish will be prepared and consumed! Served with fresh garden tomatoes, white beans and hush puppies, tickets are sure to sell out quickly.Bethlehem UMC Fish Fry
You can also plan to enjoy LIVE Bluegrass music, a silent Auction, Bake Sale, used Book Sale and the Children’s game area. Speaking of the Bake Sale, this is not your every day bake sale. Volunteers work all week preparing their special baked goods that in the past have been auctioned off for as much as $400 Emogene Ownby Hyde’s famous cream cheese pound cake!
Tickets are $10 for adults if purchased in advanced and $12 on the day of the event. Children 10 and younger eat for $5. Hot dogs will also be served for those kids who have developed the southern taste of good catfish   Catfish
