I love Spring, It's my favorite time of year. But it's killing me!!

I love Spring, It's my favorite time of year. But it's kiFlowering Treeslling me!!

The weather is warm and sunny, the Redbuds are blooming, last weekend was the Cherry Tree festival, bushes, flowers and trees are blooming and coming to life!

"I should be happy, but all I can do is cry!" (Those are words to a song, if you can remember it you get extra points. LOL)

Sneezing

I think I'm allergic to everything. My eyes itch. My throat is starting to hurt. The ears will be next.

Claritin D is my steady diet. Along with Flonase and some eye drops.

I love Spring. I really do. But it's killing me.

Bloom where You're Planted!

Bloom where You're Planted!

Some time ago Mike Jones wrote a post that included a picture of a Cactus growing out of a rock. It was a great little post and it moved me a Bloom where you're plantedlot.

Yesterday I noticed that my Christmas Cactus had started blooming again. I wrote about it back in January as it had been blooming since before Thanksgiving.

Now it has started blooming again. And it is MARCH! How crazy is that.

I have decided that it likes it's new home and is showing me how much each time it begins to bloom again. I won't be moving this one ever again.

They've Stolen my Blog! Have you ever felt like you were Living a Nightmare?

They've Stolen my Blog! Have you ever felt like you were Living a Nightmare?

Yesterday I was minding my own business, writing a blog post and commenting on others' posts. Out of the blue, I hit "My Home" and when the page came up, it They've Stolen my Blogwas someone else's home.

I hit it again and again, still someone else.

Then I went to my post and discovered that it was on this Other Person's blog. My post on their blog.

I then searched for "Connie Harvey" I found my site just fine. Everything looked normal. So I started to move on. Then I looked at my own blog but the post I had just written wasn't there!

I decided to head in another direction and just respond to comments on my other psot. Worse, when I commented on one of my own posts, the comment had their picture on it. MY COMMENT, their picture.

They've Stolen my BlogI emailed Kerrie in a panic, "MY Blog's been Hijacked!" She couldn't see what I saw so I emailed her again with links to these posts so she could see them. She suggested I call it a day on AR while they tried to fix it.

This morning, I was STILL someone else. I emailed her again and headed home for lunch.

From home, I checked email and Kerrie had suggested we try a new password.

I logged on to AR and everything was normal again. Back at the office I proceed to get caught up with some other posts that I needed to write.

I hit submit and there they were again. My post. I've just written it. But I'm on their blog!

You can't imagine what it feels like to hit Submit and someone else's page pop up! I have shut down my computer and restarted it. Everything seems to be normal. But... Will it happen again?

Yikes! Creepy to say the least.

If Nothing Else, they have a Wicked Sense of Humor!

If Nothing Else, they have a Wicked Sense of Humor!

I was just finishing up my blogging and commenting for the day when I stopped by the Home page to see if I'd missed anything. Sheila Anderson was featured with If it Walks Like a Duck... She was ranting about the problems here at AR. We've all done it recently. I just did it this morning, again. Bob and Kerrie both responded to her post.

I thought that was great, So I left her a comment. I included my issue with the Comment notifications. Lost Comments

A minute later, I'm back on my home page and what do I see???

I want my Stinking Comments!

I want my Stinking Comments!

I know ActiveRain is going through some difficult times and I really want to be a nice/good player, but not knowing where my comments are is driving me nuts. I want my comments

I like to go back and reciprocate to those who comment on my posts. And I like to see how people have responded to the comments that I've left.

It's possible for me to go through my own posts and hit each person one at a time, but it's going to take forever! There is no way for me to remember where I commented to go back and check any of them.

I just want my stinken' comments back!

Orphaned Groups

Orphaned Groups

It's Your Group do whatever you want, but why are 2 and 3 year old posts still Featured?

I don't know about you, but I belong to a lot of groups. I post in some groups often and others I visit occasionally. When I have extra time, I love going through some of theOrphaned Groups groups to see what's new and who's writing in them.

Just this weekend I was in a group and was looking at the Featured Posts, which is where I always start.

One of the Posts was about a Challenge. It was a multi-week Challenge called Makeover2Takeover. I remembered it well because I participated in the Challenge back in May and June of 2008. I had just  joined ActiveRain and was competing with Emily Lowe as my challenge partner.

The Challenge was fun but it ended in the Summer of 2008!

Why is it still a Feature?

I am assuming that the person who started the group is no longer here. Surely they wouldn't be here and just not care about their own group? If they no longer Blog here in the Rain, shouldn't someone take over the group.

Does this Orphaned group just stay there to be touched by active Rainers but has no Leadership or Guidance? Hmmmm.

When did we become so Attached to our Tech Toys?

When did we become so Attached to our Tech Toys?

This morning I woke up to find my Cell phone dark. Turned off, I thought. I tried to technologyturn it on and a funny looking screen appeared. It wouldn't do anything. Nothing. Nada. So I tried to turn it off to try turning it on again. Now it won't turn off either.

Oh well, I'll deal with it later, I thought. I had an 8am run with Team Rio. We're training for the half marathon. It's Saturday, I have nothing planned but lunch with my husband. We run 8 miles, meet back at the running store to shop (10% of all sales today went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle TN - that's who Team Rio supports).

As I was leaving, close to 10:30, I bumped into a client who I hadn't seen in several years. Do you see where this is going? It was almost noon before I used my husband's phone to check my messages!

Yikes! 3 Messages.

technology

I have a home with a "Coming Soon" sign on it. It's not in the MLS. An agent called at 8:30 to show it at 10am.

Even if my phone was working, it would have been in my car. I don't carry it when I run. I was apologetic, when I returner her call. But then I thought Hmmmm.

The house isn't on the market. It's not like they're supposed to be ready at all times. The sellers are probably not quite ready to show it. So an hour an a half notice? Really?

Just a little Rant.

I hate being so dependent on my cell phone. I'll get a new one tomorrow.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!!....

Sometimes someone posts something and you want EVERYONE you know to read it. This is one of those posts! I will never figure out why our systems are so broken and unfair!

Via Webster, Ma Conrad Allen, Realtor (Re/Max Professional Asociates):

Here's the way it should be:

Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in nursing homes.

This would correct two things in one motion:

Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.
They would receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical
Treatment, wheel chairs, etc.

They would receive money instead of having to pay it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they would be helped instantly... If they fell or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes.

All meals and snacks would be brought to them.

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight/fitness room, spiritual counseling, a pool and education...and free admission to in-house concerts by nationally recognized entertainment artists.

Simple clothing - i.e.. Shoes, slippers, pj's - and legal aid would be free, upon request.
There would be private, secure rooms provided for all with an outdoor exercise yard complete with gardens.

Each senior would have a P.C., T.V., phone and radio in their room at no cost.

They would receive daily phone calls.

There would be a board of directors to hear any complaints and the ACLU would fight for their rights and protection.

The guards would have a code of conduct to be strictly adhered to, with attorneys available, at no charge to protect the seniors and their families from abuse or neglect.

As for the criminals:

They would receive cold food.

They would be left alone and unsupervised.

They would receive showers once a week.

They would live in tiny rooms, for which they would have to pay $5,000 per month.

They would have no hope of ever getting out.

"Sounds like justice to me!"

It finally happened today. What I have feared most this past week.

It finally happened today.

What I have feared most this past week.

I was headed to an appointment and talking on the phone, when I realized he was in the car with me. He made that noise, that familiar noise that let's you know he's there, very close.

I wanted to look, but was afraid that he would realize that I knew he was in the car. I frantically looked for a safe place to pull over.

The person I was talking to asked if I was ok. My tone of voice had change and she could sense that something was terribly wrong.

As I eased the car onto a quiet street I noticed his buggy red  eyes staring at me. If only I could get out of the car and run...

I can't wait until Cicada season is over!
