Just in case you did not know it yet - which I seriously doubt - but Active Rain's Mike Cooper is an awesome person. Mike Cooper is the broker of Cornerstone Business Group, Inc. in Winchester, VA, an REO master, short-sale specialist and a savvy businessman (just to name a few) but he is also a very talented writer. He started blogging about 6 months ago but if you've followed his blog rather recently like I have, you would have never guessed it. He not only manages to spread lots of wisdom through his blog but also shares his knowledge freely, gives advice happily and quite often makes people laugh. I've been in awe about the quality of his blog time and time again - and Kerry Greenhalgh agreed with me!

 

Mike Cooper is not afraid to confess, he collects people (it's a gift), is concerned about his fellow agents' safety, describes himself as a simple guy (I beg to differ, Mike: you are a simply amazing guy!), prefers steak over 'just meat', is not afraid to ruffle some feathers and stand his ground ... and he loves Virginia and promotes the Winchester area like no other, see examples here, here, here and here.

If you happened to have come across some of my humble writings you know that I am a proud active duty military spouse, with 2 little princesses and a few deployments under our belt. It's a life with quite a few challenges and lots of sacrifices. What exactly does that have to do with Mike Cooper you ask? Well, let me tell you -

Even though I have never met Mike in person - but I will soon since he called me out and how could I say no to that? - I already know Mike is a very caring person with a 6th sense and a gracious one on top of that. He has invited my little family to spend a week at his sanctuary in the Shenandoah Valley in Va - a whole week to just enjoy ourselves, have fun, relax and recharge. It's his way to thank my husband for his service and our girls and I for hanging in there on the home front!

We are moved, honored and humbled by his generosity and kindness - so much though that we feel that he deserves to be publicly recognized for this. Knowing Mike, he will probably respond with "Oh no, it's the least I can do - no biggie" and maybe blush a little bit (Am I right? A little?) but the truth is we did not expect anything like this, ever, from anybody. It is a biggie! Mike Cooper truly makes great things happen. He has given us the gift of making up for time lost. It's an amazing gift, a priceless gift which we plan on enjoying to its fullest.
