Zooperbowl Sunday February 5, 2012 at the Nashville Zoo!

Long before the Super Bowl starts on Sunday evening, there's time to take the whole family to the Nashville Zoo for some air and exercise!This annual event allows the family, especially the kids, to get some great time together before everyone parks in front of the TV for the evening.

To encourage you, the zoo is offering half price tickets for everyone, all day Sunday February 5, 2012.

2012 Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville

Nashville offers the largest show of Antiques, combined with Garden, in the nation! Enjoy this great show February 10-12 at the Nashville Convention Center.

The Antiques and Garden Show has over 150 booths of Antiques and Horticulture booths, along with actual Landscaped Gardens. The show offers lectures by national and international experts in their fields of Antiques and Gardens. The Antiques and Garden show, in it's 22nd year, will provide the opportunity to see spectacular gardens and view or purchase beautiful Antiques.

Meet 'n 3 Friday February 3, 2012 at Nashville Farmers Market!

What's a Meet 'n 3 you ask?I'll tell you that it's NOT that Southern Meat 'n 3 eatery where you pick out some piece of meat and 3 side dishes!

No, this is where you get to Meet Local Artists, Local Food Trucks and listen to Local Music all at the Nashville Farmers Market!

There will be over 20 Local Artists and Crafters selling everything from Photography, Fine Art, Sculpture, Jewelry, Furniture and More. All produced locally. Then choose from 10 of your favorite Food Trucks or sample a little from all of them.

Lightening 100, Nashville's Independent Radio will be there along with other local artists and bands.

It's going to be a great evening.

Dolly Parton and Gaylord Opryland to build a Snow and Water Park

That's right Dolly has teamed up with those who own the Opryland Hotel to create a new Water and Snow Park. This will be the first of it's kind in the United States. In addition, they will incorporate the ever present Music of Music City to this Theme Park!

There has been much regret since the closing of the Opryland Theme park over 10 years ago. Gaylord has purchased land on the other side of Briley Parkway along Pennington Bend.

The 114 acre site is expected to draw tourists from across the country as well as entertain those already visiting Music City.

The Water and Snow Park is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2014. Dolly Parton has already enjoyed wonderful success with her Dollywood in East Tennessee. Now joined with another great entertaining company, Gaylord Opryland we can only hope for another wonderful Theme Park.

Christmas Lights in the Nashville Area- Beautiful Displays

Opryland Christmas Lights - Opryland Hotel has almost 2 million sparkling Christmas lights on display Weekdays. You can drive around the hotel and see them from 4pm to 11pm and Weekends 4pm to 2am. There are also horse-drawn carriage rides if you want out of the car!

Festival of Lights is a drive-through display at the James Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon. They've hosted this event for several years now. This special display of hundreds of thousands of lights includes beautiful scenes and animated displays. 5pm to 9pm Thursday through Sunday. $5/car 615-443-2626

Chad's Winter Wonderland is also in Lebanon at 791 E. Old LaGuardo Road off Hwy 109. Chad has an 8 acre drive-through display. $10/car 5-10pm Sunday-Thursday and 5-11pm Friday and Saturday. www.chadswinterwonderland.com

Even though this isn't the Light up the Night in Brentwood, you can still enjoy beautiful displays throughout the Brentwood subdivisions!

Light Up the Night in Brentwood TN Christmas Lights 2011

This Saturday,December 9th, 2011, God willing, Brentwood homes will be lit up with their beautiful Christmas Lights displays. Streets will be lined with hundreds of luminaries.

Last year Brentwood was dark. Rain canceled the first event and then a crippling snowstorm cancel the rain date night!

This year neighborhood organizers are planning the event to begin at dusk. All are hoping for good weather! The streets will be full of cars cruising the neighborhoods looking at the colorful, and sometimes extravagant, displays!

BrightStone's Annual Christmas Program featuring "Santa Claus is Back in Town" by the 35 special needs adults who participate at BrightStone. 6:30pm in Jamison Hall at the Factory in Franklin.

Trevecca's Christmas Chapel at Trevecca's Community Church. The Trevecca Choral Union, Madrigalians, Jazz Ensemble, Vocal Edge Ensemble, Gospel Choir and Wind Ensemble will perform during the 9:30am service.

The Tennessee State University Poinsettia Open House from 9am to 4pm in the Greenhouse on the Campus Farm off Ed Temple Blvd. there will be 32 varieties of Poinsettias. If you fill out their survey, they'll give you a small plant to take with you!

"The Messiah" performed by the Nashville Community Choir will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 7pm. 1100 Gray Fox Lane in Franklin. They ask that you bring non-perishable food items for Second Harvest.

Walk Through Bethlehem at Woodmont Christian Church on Hillboro Road. This event is in its 28th year and features over 400 church members in period clothing with live camels, goats, and sheep. Imagine participating in a market during the time of Jesus! 1-7pm. 297-8563

Veteran's Day Parades and Celebrations in Nashville and Surrounding Areas!

Friday November 11, 2011 at 11am the Veteran's Day Parade in Nashville will begin!

That's 11/11/11 at 11am.

The Veteran's Day Parade will begin on Broadway, near I-65 and head East to Third Avenue. Nashville has always honored the men and women who have served in the United States Military and this year will be no exception! You can expect to see Marching bands, floats and many Veterans that day.

Franklin's Veteran's Day Parade will start at 11:11am on 11/11/11 with a low-level flyover of a C-130 Hercules from the TN Air National Guard. The parade will begin at 5 Points and go down Main Street to the Public Square and finally turn left on Second and end at the Senior Citizens Park.

Trail of Fear Haunted Woods, tonight and Saturday at the Preston Farm in Leiper's Fork Village, 4144 Old Hillsboro Road. This family friendly event lets visitors follow a guided tour of the winding trail through the forest, past a cemetery, mineshaft and mazes.
