5th - Christmas Parade, 2pm, Main Street
12th & 13th - Dickens of a Christmas, downtown, primarily on Main Street. Saturday 10-5, Sunday 12-5
Truly one of the highlights of Franklin's Christmas Season, this is
the 24th year that Franklin's Historic Downtown travels back in time to the time of Charles Dickens with a Victorian celebration on Main Street.
The Volunteers - over 250 - make this spectacular by dressing in period costume as pedestrians, street vendors and musicians, dancers and Dickens characters.
There will be Victorian treats such as roasted chestnuts, turkey legs, sugar plums and fish n' chips. You'll find a holiday bazaar with arts and crafts all around the Public Square. You're sure to encounter Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Ghost of Christmas past. There will be performances by the dancers and musicians that wander the streets, as well as hand bell choirs, carolers and many other types of entertainment. The best part is it's FREE!
So take the family. There is no better time than another. The activities go on and on. There are 2 free parking garages on Forth Avenue South and Second Avenue South. There is additional parking along the streets.

Connie, I always love Franklin around the holidays, especially The Dickens of a Christmas.
Connie - Thank you for sharing the calendar with us. The city of Franklin does a wonderful job with events throughout the year.
Connie, you make me homesick. I'm from McMinnville, Tennessee originally and don't get back there very often but I do love Nashville and all of Tennessee. I still consider it home.
I love your profile picture. You look so warm and inviting, yet professional. I always go for the "beachy" look but now I'm rethinking that. Check out my picture and let me know what you think.
Mike - me too! I've had to miss it the past couple of years, but we're planning on going next Saturday!
Kenneth - Franklin is truly one of the most fun places I've ever seen. There's always something going on! I just realized I forgot to add the Jingle Bell Run!
Marian - I know what you mean. I love Tennessee. I actually grew up in Chicago and Alabama. This is more like a combination of the two. About the picture, you ARE on the beach working so I'm not really opposed to the beachy look.
I like to go to Dickens of a Christmas. I have gone to this event for the past 10 years. Lots of fun for the entire fam...
Helping you live your American dream...
Michael - me too. We're planning on going. I hope the weather's nice this year!
