Here are some more outdoor activities that we missed on Part 1 of this series:
Boating:
Radnor lake is a hidden gem in this city. Reached by turning onto Otter Creek road either off Franklin Road or Granny White Pike, this state park offers casual walking, hiking AND you can take a canoe float!
Boat Day in Murfreesboro with the Stones River Watershed Association is this Saturday, June 26th from 9 to noon. The association will teach you about boats and boat saftey. Volunteers will have kayaks and canoes that you can practice in. From Nashville take I-24 to Medical Center Parkway turn onto Searcy Street and head to the Manson Pike Trailhead.
If boating seems a little risky to you, feed the ducks at Centennial Park on West End Avenue.
Movies
Outdoor Lawn Theater in Leiper's Fork shows classics at dusk on the 2nd and 4th Fridays until the end of August. Bring your chairs and blankets to 4144 Old Hillsboro Road.
Mommy I'm Bored! Harpeth Community Church is showing kid friendly movies every Wednesday and Thursday in June and July. Movies are free. Purchase a Chick-fil-A childs meal for $3!
Movies in the Park at Centennial Park on West End Avenue at the band shell has 2 more movies in their summer series. June 30th will be The Wizard of Oz and on July 7th Where the Wild Things Are.
Murfreesboro is offering their Movies Under the Stars on different nights and different locations throughout the community until July 31. Call 890-5333 for locations and movie information.
Music:

Centennial Parks offers Big Band Dances every Saturday evening from 7 to 10. http://activerain.com/action/blogs_admin/write/1696786There are free dance lessons from 7:00 to 7:30 and again between 8:30 and 8:50. This week the Music City Swing will be featured. Bring your lawn chair and ice chest full of cool drings and just watch!
Also at Centennial the Nashville Symphony will continue it's June Nashville Symphony in the Park series on Tuesdays starting at 7pm. On June 30th they will also perform at Riverfront Park downtown.

Middle Tennessee is blessed with many Wineries that also have concert series. Check them out at each of their websites. On the south side, you'll find Arrington Vineyards with live music most Friday - Sundays. To the north there's Sumner Crest Winery in Portland offering concerts monthly and Beachaven Winery in Clarksville with their Jazz on the Lawn. Conch Republic is playing Saturday June 26th, 6:30 to 9:30.
Key West on the Cumberland, a new weekend series, takes place at the Cedar Creek Marina on Old Hickory Lake in Mt. Juliet. You can take a blanket and/or a chair and enjoy the music or you can purchase something to nibble on from the Fish Tail Grill. 758-5174.
You can also find music at Crockett Park in Brentwood on Sunday evenings, at Cannonsburge Village in Murfreesboro 7-9 on Fridays and variouse other places throughout Middle Tennessee. The WannaBeatles are playing this Sunday in Crockett.
