Active Rain - Why do I not get emails from you anymore?
Up until recently, when an AR member, or anyone for that matter, emailed me, it came to my Outlook and I knew to log in. When anyone made a comment on one of my posts, it sent me an email. That way I always knew when I had comments that I needed to respond to.
Now, I'm on AR almost every day so I'm catching these things, most of the time. But twice in the past few weeks another AR member tried to send me a REFERRAL! For heaven's sake, these people think that I'm not intersted when I don't respond in a timely fashion. If I send out an email to someone with a referral, and they don't respond w/in 24 hours, I send it to someone else!
When I find out that this has happened, I'm going to be a very unhappy Rainer. So tell me what's wrong. OK?

I often times have this problem, sometimes I get the message, sometimes I don't. I don't get it either! AAARRRGGHHH!
I don't know if I'm having a problem with this......I get emails often enough that I haven't questioned it. I wonder if I'm missing anything......I don't think so.
Stephanie - I was just getting ready to head home and decided to look here to see if anyone had commented. Low and behold there were two and I knew nothing!
Ann - I would guess, if I'm not getting them, you're probably not either!
Well that's just not right then is it!!!!
I'm thinking you would need to update your e-mail address, but then, why? If you call the number on the top of the screen, they (AR) is really good at getting back to you with a response. I had a billing issue and it was cleared up jiffy like!

I absolutely understand your frustration. Please note that we are taking steps to diagnose and address this problem. The best advice I can give is to add "notification@activerain.com" to your address book or list of approved senders.

Like Thom, I would reach out to AR and ask them. I too have had a few missing emails, but haven't followed the trail.
Lyn Sims had a post on this a few days ago. ...maybe go check what she said to do. Scary to think you might not know what you're missing.
I have not noticed any e-mail problems with AR since they fixed the proxy errors and gateway errors.
I occasionally do not get emails. One friend I talked into posting a blog before he would be Ungrandfathered does not get emals and has not found ActiveRain helpful in getting this corrected. His issue has gone on for years. He has not got the emails for years.
Just yesterday the emails changed the from info, They were going into the wrong folder in my email but I am glad I am getting emails.
I quit getting e-mails from AR period about 8 months ago. I contacted technical support to no avail. Now, I just make sure I log in daily to check to see if I have new messages.
BTW, my Featured Posts stars need to be updated also. Cheers!
Connie - Once in a while they come through and other times they don't. They always appear on my home page, so that is where I always scan before I start reading/commenting on posts.
Connie, I sometimes get them, sometimes don't, apparently. I just went through my roll, and saw two. That's not good!
Have you checked you email provider's web-based interface? If your ActiveRain is there, but not on Outlook, it may be a problem with the settings on Outlook!
Connie, I haven't received any emails from comments in well over a year. Once in a while I get an email on something I first commented on when I first started with AR. I do get the emails when someone comments on my blog.
There have been times when I received emails days after they were sent.
Connie... I have stopped getting any and all e-mails for the last 3 months now and my IT guy can't seem to find out what's wrong and AR didn't really know, It is frustrating and at first, I did miss a few leads or questions... aaarrggghhh...
Did a post on this just the other day about agents not being sure their emai address is working. I would say change email addresses to see if that works.
Only had this a few times during the dreaded proxy-error days, Connie. Or so I think... How DO I know if some aren't coming through???

I wondered about that. Seems like that went away months and months ago. I haven't gotten an email in a long long time. I try to check in on my home page several times a day to stay in the loop. I have sent out referrals via AR just recently and a couple people never responded. I guess they don't check their home page often.
I don't reveive anything from Activerain anymore. I have to go to the website to see anything. I can't see any reason for this and it has been going on for several months now. In fact, this is the first time in a long time that I have logged on to AR. Not that I don't want to but as days run into nights in this business it just makes it a lot easier when you see it in you email folder. BTW, it is not going ito spam or trash folder. First thing I looked for!
Connie: I took the time to send out individual emails to Chicagoland/IL AR members about an upcoming event. Got many many of them back with the notation that the emails couldn't go through. Now I KNOW that these individuals are active presently here on AR, so it's not that the account is dead or anything. And have experienced this problem quite a few times recently when trying to write an individual. So .. many problems exist and need to be addressed by AR.
I'm hoping this article brings them to light and they get fixed soon. Thanks ...

I'm having the SAME PROBLEM. I called Active Rain a few days ago and they're researching the issue for me, but it's still not fixed.

We're working to consolidate all outgoing notifications under a new address: notification@activerain.com. Following Kerrie's excellent advice is a great place to start.
Connie - I've had the same issue and haven't been able to figure it out. I'm going to try Kerrie's advice right now, hopefully it will work.
I have never gotten an email from ActiveRain (member for two years) except when I sign up for an AR seminar, I get a reminder and when I had an issue with my billing, my wife on the other hand who just signed up for AR 2 months ago gets an email almost every day, go figure.
Jorgen - thanks for confirming this, we have received many questions in this regard over the past couple weeks as you're aware, and I have been giving members the same advice that Kerrie gave. Thanks. :-)

Christine - if you remember, you and I sent each other things through AR and neither of us got anything.

Marc - It has just gotten worse in the past week. The emails from other members had been a problem for me, but just recently I don't get the notifications about comments on my posts. That sent me over the edge! :)
Maureen - What I'm reading today in the comments is that the problem is different for different people.
Lori - I've done what Kerrie recommended. Let's see what happens.
Judy - That's where I'm finding them. I prefer getting it on my email too because I don't always stay logged in to AR.
Marney - It's not like it's the end of the earth, but when there are leads (MONEY) involved, then I'm more concerned about it not working correctly.
Richard - I've added them now to my address book. It's just strange that they stopped comming after over 2 years.
Michael - Like I said, it doesn't seem like a consistant problem for everyone.

I lost a short sale listing for this very reason and am not happy about it. I didn't realize until then I wasn't receiving notifications. Hard Lesson to learn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Connie I used to get notifications every time someone commented on my blog, but haven't for the last few days. I contacted AR and they said it was my e-mail carrier, I connected my e-mail carrier and they said it was a problem with AR..............still not resolved and very frustrating! I feel your pain...............
Well I can tell you all right now. I added the notifications@activerain.com to my address books yesterday. I've gotten nothing from them still. Eleanor, you Heather and Roger would have be lost to me if I didn't come check. I'm going to call them later today.

Connie I think you were adding an "s" to notification. :)
You're right but yesterday I changed it on both outlook and Realtracs, where it comes in. It's just not working. I've looked in spam and junk and everywhere.
