It only took 870 days to reach my 300th Blog post!

It's hard for me to believe that just over 2 years ago I was a struggling blogger. Searching for titles and ideas. Wondering why I had to learn about Social Media. Adding friends on Facebook and followers on TwitteEmily Lower.

It all started with Emily. Emily Lowe that is. I hired her to teach me about the Internet. In one day she had me join Active Rain, Facebook, My Space and Linked In. The next week she had us participating in the Makeover2Takeover challenge. That's where I met Missy Caulk and Kim Wood.

I looked back over my points summary and saw that I averaged about 3 comments a day the first few weeks. I posted a few listings and just struggled in general with what to do here. I wasn't putting a lot of effort in. I kept asking WHY? and she kept saying "Just do it"! I did. She was right.

Then it happened. I was reading Margaret Rome's post about technology and thinking how far behind I was. When I went to comment I discovered that she had written it 2 year before. Less than 30 minutes after leaving my comment, she phoned me. It's a friendship that I have truly treasured these past two years. From that conversation came what I consider my first REAL blog post.

blogging for business

I tell everyone that I came into the social media age kicking and screaming. Now it's just a part of me. I could give you 300 reasons to continue blogging but the most important ones are that:

1. I've gotten both Buyers and Sellers from blogging.

2. I've gotten referrals from other AR members.

3. I've made an incredible number of friends here. People I look forward to seeing when I head to BarCamp or some other social media gathering.

4. I've learned a ton of things about online marketing, technology, social networking and Google.

Thank you Emily.

Thank you Active Rain and ALL of my Active Rain friends!

Ann - I'm going to have to miss this one too. Too much going on here! I think it'll be great. Hate to miss it.

Pam - It's amazing the change in just 2 years. I'll miss everyone in Atlanta too.

I am still kicking and struggling with this technology era but intend to keep with it.  Thanks for sharing.

Michael - I consider AR as part of my workday, so getting some return on the time should be expected!

Lois - Keep at it. Ask for help. It gets a little easier as you go along!

Joan - Thanks for subscribing. I hope that I can keep you amused!

Tammie - Last January 1st I committed, in writing to post 3 times a week. I've been pretty good about it. I have missed a couple weeks or more but for the most part have been consistant. I love it here.

Connie, Do you realize that was my very first post on AR four years ago. And I am laughing about how a wonderful friendship starts with a digital handshake.

Thank you, my friend.
