Dolly Parton and Gaylord Opryland to build a Snow and Water Park

Dolly Parton and Gaylord Opryland to build a Snow and Water Park Water and Snow Park

That's right Dolly has teamed up with those who own the Opryland Hotel to create a new Water and Snow Park. This will be the first of it's kind in the United States. In addition, they will incorporate the ever present Music of Music City to this Theme Park!

There has been much regret since the closing of the Opryland Theme park over 10 years ago. Gaylord has purchased land on the other side of Briley Parkway along Water and Snow ParkPennington Bend.

The 114 acre site is expected to draw tourists from across the country as well as entertain those already visiting Music City.

The Water and Snow Park is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2014. Dolly Parton has already enjoyed wonderful success with her Dollywood in East Tennessee. Now joined with another great entertaining company, Gaylord Opryland we can only hope for another wonderful Theme Park.

Connie, this sounds like a blast. I'm glad Dollywood is still going strong.

This new development should be great for the local economy. Tourism business is wonderful.

Terri - the local buzz on this is very strong. I think the locals will support it too.

Roy - They say that it will bring about 450 permanent jobs. Not counting those during construction.

Yet ANOTHER reason to visit Nashville.

I suppose I should not wait till 2014 however, right?

The Grey Goose would never last that long would it?

But I'll see you April 11th, correct?

Oh how I loved visiting Opryland every summer when I was a child, I don't get back there very often anymore though.

Thom - I haven't signed up yet. Debe asked me the same thing last week.

Barbara - These are two highly successful businesses. There is  no reason that this won't be a wonderful thing for our area.

Brian - The CEO of Gaylord has said how he regrets that they ever closed Opryland.
