The ActiveRain Family
Yesterday I posted that January is National Thank You month. As I was writing it I remembered reading an article about how having a Grateful Attitude is actually good for your health. Several of my readers friends commented about how
much they appreciate the people here at ActiveRain who have been there for them during their time of personal/family crisis.
It reminded me of the many members I have prayed for in the past year. Some lost loved ones, others dealt with illnesses of their own or of a family member, and some were just struggling.
Mary Yonkers wrote a Thank You post yesterday updating us on her sister's health. She was especially grateful for her ActiveRain family.
That got me thinking about Family. We all were born into one. We didn't pick them. They are what they are. We can't change them, we can't control what they do.
Here in the Rain we've created a community that often feels just like family. We care for each other and reach out to offer support. To each of you who have reached out to touch me in your own way I say Thank You.

Connie, you are so right. One of things we have online here at ActiveRain is support. Support when things go wrong and when they go right. What keeps me coming back everyday is the gifts of ideas and actions we bring to our real estate table online. We do make a difference and we sometimes forget to say Thank YOU! Suggested!
Emily - I think of a couple of times where I didn't post for over a week and someone would email or call me to make sure I was ok and didn't need anything.

Last February Emily Medvec sent flower/bear mug to Baltimore gathering of Rain members organized by Margaret Rome. Margaret encouraged me to attended because I had been MIA for some time.
Last fall we were so concerned about Donna Foerster's health and excited when she returned just before Christmas.
I love it here, but it's the people that make ActiveRain what it is.

Connie this is a beautiful example of what makes the Active Rain family - just that - a caring, supportive group of people. Gratefullness is a gift to gives oneself. I am so incredibly grateful for all of the amaing people I've truly met and made friends with this past 3 + years. Amazingly grateful!!
Mary - I didn't want to capitalize on your sweet post but I think what we have is very special. Donna, Missy Caulk, Irene, Pamela St Peter, Joe Kenny... The list goes on and on. I hate to even say the names because I know I'll miss people.
I was so blessed when I wrote about Maude, my mother-in-law in 2010. Some comments are polite, but so many are truly heartfelt.
Connie~ My Active Rain family is very special to me. Not only are they there for me when it comes to business, they are there when I just need some love (and prayers).

Connie, there are so many friends and "family" that I have met through the Rain! I cannot wait to give some of them hugs for the kindnesses that they've shown me over the years. It is true. For many of us we have become family.
