There is a Season, a time to Live and a time to Die
It doesn't seem that long ago that I wrote about Jim's mother, Maude, passing away. She was just shy of 97 but in relatively good health. The year before, I lost my Aunt Margaret at age 100.
These were not young people. You knew that anything could happen at any time. But the truth is, even knowing you're blessed each day to have them that when something DOES happen, it won't be the right time for you. You're
just not ready for them to go yet.
This Morning, Joe, Maude's husband passed away. He was 97. He had finally moved to assisted living last May. In November he fell and banged his head pretty bad. Lots of stitches and a week in the hospital. Since then he had good days and bad days.
This past week they were all bad days. So, was it a shock? No. Was I ready? No.
He's with Maude now. They're probably both very happy.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Connie. Platitudes won't help, but you know I totally understand. I'm thinking of you and hugging you.
Mimi - Thank you. The past week has been really difficult for him and I even prayed this morning that we wouldn't suffer needlessly.
We are reminded of the quote: This little life shall pass, and we are gone. Our condolences to your family.
Connie, Sorry to hear your news but glad you had so many years with all of these folks. They lived very long lives. I went to a 90th birthday party a few weeks ago. There was a guest there that was 96. So many interetsing stories these older people tell. They have been through so many changes in their lives. Thinking of you and your husband.
Ed and Tracy - Thank you. Very kind of you.
JoAnn - We will be celebrating Jim's aunt's 90th birthday while we're there. Yes the stories are incredible.
So sorry for your loss. OF course never easy to see someone we love pass on , it is comforting when we know that they beat the odds to make it to such a ripe old age!
Hi Connie, I am sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you during this time!
Connie, I'm sorry to hear this news. Everything you said in this post is true and especially that they are together again at last. It sounds thought that you will always be able to cherish many special memories of both.
Janis - To be healthy that many years is amazing.
Linda - Thank you.
Silvia - My husband is at peace with it all and that's what counts most.
Condolences. We are never ready to lose someone dear to us.
Marge - Thank you.
Connie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Hi Connie. I am sorry for your loss. No words help only time.
Kathy - Thank you. :)
Conrad - We're headed to Ohio in the morning. It'll be bittersweet. Jim's aunt turns 90 on Saturday and we'll have the funeral on Monday. Some happy times, some sad.
Connie, I am offering you my deepest condolences. I know how it goes....I lost three last year. You are never prepared.
Don - Three in one year. That's too much. I'm so sorry.
