Buying Organic Vegetables in Nashville TN or Franklin TN
The Nashville Farmer's Market is open 362 days each year. That's almost every day, all year long. All of the vendors there are not Organic growers so you must ask and learn which is which.
The Farmer's Market in Franklin TN is almost all organic. This market is only
open on Saturdays with May through November being the peak season.
When looking for Organic Vegetables in Nashville or Franklin, one often ends up at a Community Supported Agriculture farmer, commonly known as CSA. People usually join a CSA in Nashville TN for fresh, ripe locally grown produce.
Anyone who has ever bought tomatoes after November or before May, knows that they are picked green and shipped across the country, hoping that they ripen along the way. They are often also genetically engineered to withstand these long trips. That is assuming, that they are grown here in the USA.
The number of CSAs in Nashville has continued to grow through the yeas.
We have personally joined Delvin Farms and Doe Run Farms and have had wonderful experiences with both! Both CSAs offer multiple locations for weekly pickup plus different types of plans based on your own family's needs. CSAs in Nashville are signing up members now for the 2012 growing season!
If you're looking for Organic Vegetables in Nashville TN or Franklin TN we recommend you join one of the local CSA soon!

Wow that's great! I feel like our farmer's market is only open on weekends, but I'm not sure.
Hi Connie, our market is now open in the winter....but I will check about CSAs in our community.
Bud and Beth - The one in Downtown Nashville is Huge! Because of that, they get a lot of traffic and can stay open all year. The Franklin one is pretty big on the Saturdays in the summer but when they've tried other days they get a so-so turnout.
Rebecca - The CSAs are the Bomb! A full share was too much for me and my husband so we found one with a weekly mini-share and it works beautifully.
You are fortunate to have a Farmers Market open all year. We do buy shares in a CSA and grow a few veggies, too. It is great for our son to see where food comes from and how it gets to the table.
Don - I love the farmers market and I really love my CSA. We usually grow a few yellow plum tomatoes and some jalapenos.

The Nashville and Franklin Tennessee Framers Market is a great place to buy your fresh organic vegetables.
Good luck and success.

I've been to the one down town in Nashville and was very impressed. These markets are a great asset to the communities they serve.
Lou - Thank you. We really enjoy them.
Greg - Since the flood in 2010, they've greatly improved the one downtown. We now also have smaller markets scattered around on different days of the week during the summer months.
We don't have CSA's and we should! What a wonderful concept. We have a few small farmer's markets but not large, always open ones. I do miss that!
Marge - Imagine paying up front for your summer vegetables and then just stopping by each week to pick up your box of goodies! It's wonderful!
Connie, that's great information for people in Nashville and Franklin. Produce that is fresh and locally grown is definitely the best and when it's organic that's even the better. We may have to rethink our habits, fruit and vegetables that are not in season are either shipped a long way or grown under other nondesirable conditions.
Silvia - I lived in Italy for 3 years and we only ate what was in season. I'm trying to get my husband to understand this thinking. It's healthier, supports the locals and makes us become more creative with our recipes!
