If your friends are heavy drinkers, chances are that you'll be a heavy drinker too!
Really, you say? Lately, I've been invited to various Mastermind groups. I've read the
invites and what the meeting is about and what I'm seeing is that You Are like Who you Surround Yourself with.
If your friends are overweight, chances are you'll be overweight. If you love to exercise, chances are your friends also exercise.
It's no different with Successful careers. If you hang out with those B$%*ing and Moaning, chance are you'll spend a lot of your precious time B$%*ing and moaning too. The people we spend the most time with influence how we act and what we think.
This is why people join the Mastermind Groups, to have access to powerful minds and goals! If you don't have a Mastermind Group available to you, create your own. Read books by positive successful people.

I can say that the exercise thing was especially true for me this past year. I had lost my running partner (she went and got a job) and kept looking for friends who wanted to walk in the hills of Warner Park. Each person within a week or more would start canceling at the last minute, leaving me stranded.
I finally got hooked up with Susan and we've been running/walking 2-3 days each week since August. She always shows up. I always show up. The others? I don't want to hear their excuses. Or their whining about their weight.
Figure out where you want to go and then find people headed in the same direction, or better yet, already there. That's who you want to spend time with.

Connie, I totally agree with you... life is too short to waste it complaining about things you don't like. Your proactive approach is the right attitude!
Hello Connie,
This is very true. I've had to change whom I choose to hang out with for this very reason.
Monique - Thank you. Life really is too short to waste it complaining!
Victor - It's especially true if you're trying to reach important goals.
Connie a life well lived is a happy, peaceful and joyful life (no room for anything but!!) Great Post!
Anna - Thank you! I couldn't agree more.
Connie~ Good for you! Great inspiration. I see too many people that complain about everything and anything.. always.. nobody wants to hang out with them. I feel exhausted when i'm around somebody like that. Shed the negative and you feel better!!
Connie:
I had never really thought about this philosophy before -- but it makes perfect sense to me! Very inspirational post and I'm glad you found a new (and reliable) walking/running partner :)
Connie....you know I would show up for you!
But there would be NO running.....I'm not going to spill my wine!
Hugs!
Connie - You are so right. We tend to hang out with people we feel comfortable with and some fo them (good or bad) rubs off on us. So, hanging out with the those that inspire us to do great things is a wonderful idea.
Hi Connie, I am right there with you and if I lived close to you I would walk as often as you wanted to and our time allowed. I walk with a good friend but it seens lately we haven't been and I need to change this for me. It is really great walking with someone because the more we talk the faster we walk. Nice reminders thanks Connie and Happy Walking!
I don't look like that though, well maybe 40 years ago. LOL
Connie, great advice, and have always heard hang with successful people, and NO downers! Glad to hear you found another walker!
Connie,
Well said, I have always believed this too and as I get older I see the need to turn to some of these trusted advisers more and more.
Connie
I want to thank you personally for your offer to be a mentor to me. I have elected to work with Kathleen Daniels but truly appreciative of your reaching out to me. Hopefully this is not to unappropriate place to leave this, hick!! cheersCurtis Van Carter
Connie Interesting concept - I've never heard of Masterminds, but I know I'll look inti it
Connie ~ Very good blog Connie. Well, you wont catch me at a bar or hanging around people complaining all the time and not running unless someone is chasing me. LOL. I wouldn't mind hanging out with as long as you walked.
Connie, no question you are 100% correct. Exercising and I think running in particular is addictive. So is success. Once your a runner and once your successful, nothing else will do.
Connie,
...and if your friends are Active Rain bloggers, you're likely to be more successful than the average! Good post!

Connie I certainly it is business or vacation that has kept you from posting
I am a positive person, but most people might think of me as a peanut brain rather than a master mind!
